NB Beowulf is a 57ft cruiser style
narrowboat, carefully designed to allow space for a wheelchair to manouvre
as required. The boat is fitted out in reverse layout with oak veneered
linings above the gunwales & vertical solid oak T&G below the gunwales, white
painted T&G headlinings, solid oak cabinets etc and Karndean floors throughout
(non-slip Amtico in the wet room). The galley
has Shaker style cupboards complimented by a baby Belfast sink and dramatic red Silestone worktops.
The bathroom is a full width wet room. Heating is supplied by
an Alde Compact heater to radiators as well as a solid fuel corner Bubble stove in
the dinette. Unusually D&J Narrowboats completed the internal fitout only
on the owners' own sailaway (delivered as a bare shell with engine, bowthruster
& lift installed), which was then cruised to the painter's workshop for the
exterior to be painted & signwritten.
